Our Mission
We help our students develop skills and broaden their horizons as people and as artists. We believe that by exposing children to all aspects of theatrical production, they will learn valuable skills, build their confidence and take part in experiences they will always treasure. We provide young people the opportunity to explore and perform theater together in an educational, supportive and professional environment, while developing self-esteem, teamwork, and positive communication skills.
To enrich the lives of young people by addressing their unique needs through formal education in the performing arts and productions of the highest quality.
About Katie Corrie, Director
For 20 years Katie Corrie has been teaching, directing and mentoring children and teens in acting and the performing arts. She holds a BA in Secondary Education with a minor in Drama from the College of St. Rose in Albany, NY. She has worked in professional, regional and community theatres, schools, YMCAs and resident camps throughout the Northeastern and Mid Atlantic United States including New York, Maine, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and in 2007 re-located to Central Florida. In the Orlando area she has taught and directed at Orlando Repertory Theatre, Orlando Youth Theatre and L.A. Acting. Over the years over one thousand young actors have worked with Katie and have gone on to pursue successful careers on and off stages across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. She has directed over 30 plays and musicals. Most recently, she directed CHARLOTTE'S WEB, THE SECRET LIFE OF GIRLS, THE OUTSIDERS, ANNE OF GREEN GABLES, and in May 2009, the area premiere of THE BOXCAR CHILDREN, which went to the Orlando International Fringe Festival where it won the award for Best Children’s Show, 2009.
In the Limelight Programming
In the Limelight offers classes, productions, private coaching and summer camp programming. Classes are held in Gotha, either at the Gotha Community Center on Gotha Road or at 9033 Lake Coventry Court, Gotha. Production rehearsals are held in Orlando at the YMCa Aqautic Center on International Drive. Summer Camps are held at both Gotha Community Center and the YMCA Aquatic Center.
